2024 Tariff Hikes Changed the Game

Telecom tariffs went up 10-25% in July 2024. The cheapest unlimited plan now starts at ₹239 (Jio) vs ₹179 earlier. With BSNL completing its 4G/5G rollout in 2025, four-way competition has returned.

Vi — Best Value with Weekend Rollover

Despite financial troubles, Vi maintains decent 4G in metros. Weekend data rollover and night unlimited features still unique. 5G launched in select cities mid-2025.

BSNL — Best for Rural & Budget

Cheapest unlimited plans. 4G/5G rolled out in 2024-25. No tariff hike yet, so 30-40% cheaper than private operators. Coverage still patchy in some metros.
