Surface Pro 11 vs Surface Laptop 7 — India comparison

Microsoft's Surface lineup has a devoted fan base among Indian professionals who want premium Windows devices. The Surface Pro 11 (2-in-1 tablet-laptop) and Surface Laptop 7 (traditional clamshell) run on the same Snapdragon X Elite/Plus chipset but serve different use cases. Here's how to decide.

Form factor

Surface Pro 11 is a tablet with an attachable keyboard — versatile but the keyboard cover costs extra (₹12,990) and typing on a lap is less comfortable than a traditional laptop. Surface Laptop 7 is a conventional laptop with one of the best keyboards on any Windows machine — satisfying key travel, solid deck, no flex.

Performance (Snapdragon X)

Both run Snapdragon X Elite or X Plus — ARM-based chips that deliver excellent performance per watt. Comparable to Apple M3 in efficiency, they outperform Intel Core Ultra in battery life tests while matching performance in most workloads. Note: some older Indian enterprise apps not yet optimised for ARM may have compatibility issues.

Display

Surface Pro 11: 13-inch PixelSense Flow OLED, 2880×1920, 120 Hz, touch + pen input. Excellent for creative work, annotation, and presentations. Surface Laptop 7: 13.8 or 15-inch PixelSense Flow LCD, 2304×1536, 120 Hz, touch. Very good display but not OLED. Pro 11's OLED display is visibly better.

Battery

Surface Laptop 7 consistently delivers 18–20 hours in Microsoft's tests (12–14 hours real-world). Surface Pro 11 delivers 14–16 hours (10–12 hours real-world). For pure battery longevity, the Laptop 7 is better.

Price in India

Surface Pro 11 starts at ₹1,09,999 (keyboard not included — add ₹12,990). Surface Laptop 7 starts at ₹1,04,999 with keyboard. All-in, Surface Laptop 7 is better value unless the 2-in-1 form factor is specifically needed.
