Best weekend trips from Jaipur (2025)

Jaipur sits at the heart of Rajasthan's magnificent travel circuit. Within 350 km you have India's best wildlife reserve, camel fairs, and medieval cities. Here are the top options.

Top destinations

Pushkar — 145 km, 2.5 hours

One of India's most sacred cities and home to the world's only Brahma Temple. The Pushkar Camel Fair (November) is India's most colourful festival. Pushkar Lake ghats, rooftop cafes, and the unique blend of spirituality and backpacker culture make this a must-visit. Best October–March. Budget: ₹1,500–₹3,000/day.

Ranthambore National Park — 180 km, 3 hours

India's most photogenic tiger reserve. UNESCO Heritage ruins of Ranthambore Fort inside the forest are extraordinary. Safari bookings via pathamdeogroup.in or direct at the forest office — book 2–3 months ahead for peak season (October–April). Tiger sighting probability: 75–80% in good season. Best October–June. Combine with Bundi (75 km from Ranthambore).

Jodhpur — 340 km, 5 hours

The Blue City. Mehrangarh Fort (India's most imposing), Jaswant Thada (white marble memorial), Ghanta Ghar clock tower market, and Osian (desert sand dunes). Best visited November–February. Jodhpuri food (Makhaniya lassi, Mawa kachori) is outstanding.

Bundi — 210 km, 3.5 hours

Rajasthan's most underrated gem. Step wells (baoris), Bundi Palace frescoes, Taragarh Fort, and winding medieval alleys with no tourist crowds. Often bypassed by tourists heading to Udaipur — exactly why it's worth visiting. Budget: ₹1,000–₹2,500/day.

Shekhawati — 180 km, 3 hours (Mandawa)

The open-air art gallery of Rajasthan. Havelis (mansions) with 19th-century frescoes covering every surface. Mandawa, Nawalgarh, Fatehpur, and Jhunjhunu. No single attraction — the whole town is the attraction. Best October–February. Combine 2–3 towns in one day trip.
